Spanning ranchlands of Montana, Texas rodeo arenas, and the gritty backroads between them, The Pickup Men blends high-stakes competition with down-to-earth humanity.

Rodeo pickup man, Boomer Augustine, a brutal husband and father, has adopted an old family feud as his own. He is determined to punish World Champion steer wrestler, Rusty Blackstone, simply for being a Blackstone. Without ever meeting, Boomer’s wife and Rusty find themselves in an odd alliance to protect themselves and their loved ones.

It’s a story of loyalty tested, grudges revived, and the hard choices families make when danger comes riding in the dead of night. Set against the raw, high-stakes world of professional rodeo and rugged ranch life, The Pickup Men is a heartfelt tale of courage and redemption. Packed with tension, heart, humor, and unforgettable characters, this fifth installment of the Rodeo in the Blood series proves that in rodeo the toughest battles aren’t always fought on horseback.

Written with authenticity by a lifelong cowboy, this uplifting, reflective story shines with hope and hard-earned wisdom.
